Hollyhock Hollow Pandora "Pandi"Hi All,Photos here of Pandi, just after her 12th birthday. She is getting stiff in the legs, but is still very good at her job. Sometimes I don't know how she gets up and runs and barks at dogs that are passing by. Then she walks back to her watch areas to continue the job. We still think she is doing a wonderful job, but I think we have too many neighbors for her loud bark. Jim and I have though if we would have another Anatolian to replace her, and we think that with our crazy neighbors, we aren't sure if we could handle it. The thing is that mountain lions have been destroyed in the local towns and I am always ask how we deal with lions. I always say that we have a livestock guarding dog, a wonderful Anatolian Shepherd, and therefore we can all live together without having to destroy anyone. But these people still feed the deer in their yards which bring in the lions to get the deer, and they don't check on their dogs when they bark, which make the other neighbors mad and so the cycle continues .... Anyway, Pandi weighs about 130 pounds and the 2 year old Golden Retriever male dog, Maurico weights about 80 pounds. The don't play much, cause Maurico is tooo rough on the old girl. but they and my Australian shepherd Patches get along great. Patches barks when cars and people come to the gate, Pandi barks if they bring a dog. They all three have different jobs, of which they worked out somehow. If we lived farther away from neighbors we would get another Anatolian in a heart beat! Pandi is a beauty as well as smart! Enjoy the photos!
